Dalal Street staged a sharp recovery on Wednesday after eight straight sessions of losses, with Sensex and Nifty climbing nearly 1% as investors found fresh reasons to buy.

The S&P BSE Sensex surged 660.64 points to 80,928.26, while the NSE Nifty50 rose 185.70 points to 24,796.80 as of 12:10 PM. The rally was broad-based, led by auto, private banking, pharma, and media stocks.

Kranthi Bathini, Director – Equity Strategy at WealthMills Securities, said, β€œAs the markets are in a buy-on-dips mode, RBI maintaining the status quo on interest rates but showing optimism on growth has created some positivity.
