The government of Sudan says that the continued attacks on civilians in El-Fasher, northern Darfur, are an extermination and not a conflict anymore, as the country blames the continent and the international community for abandoning it.

At a press conference in Nairobi this week, Sudan’s Chargé d’Affaires Dr Mohammed Osman Akasha said that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are systematically targeting unarmed civilians for ethnic cleansing while the world looks the other way.

“Today, Sudan stands alone in the eye of the storm, with only a few African nations supporting the country. Sadly, the spirit of unity that bound us together as Africans has been dismantled. The solidarity has been invaded, and our African coherence has been neutralised,” Dr Akasha said.

The RSF pushed the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) out of El-Fasher on October 26, but the army said it withdrew “to save the population from bombardment and the use of chemical
