Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s decision to retain left-arm pacer Yash Dayal for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season has ignited widespread criticism, with many questioning the franchise’s stance as the player faces two grave criminal cases, including one under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

RCB kept Dayal, whom they bought for Rs 5 crore last year, as part of the 17 players retained on the deadline day, 15 November.

The 27-year-old is accused in separate cases in Ghaziabad and Jaipur, both relating to allegations of sexual assault.
