One of the greatest tragedies and injustices this country witnessed this year was the death of Adriana Younge. Her name should never be forgotten and the calls for justice should never be quieted. Often, we witness how injustice undermines the fabric of this society and creates skeletons of humans who are victims of its wickedness. People have been suffocated by the hands of grief for their sons and daughters whose lives were stolen. The deaths of the mothers of Isaiah and Joel Henry demonstrate this. In 2020 their screams echoed across this land and their tears soaked where the mutilated bodies of their sons were left to rot. There has been no justice for that family. Instead, what we witnessed was the wounded being treated harshly by those responsible for upholding justice in this society.
Adriana Younge would have celebrated her twelfth birth anniversary this week.
