A recent statement by Eternal CEO Deepinder Goyal has set social media abuzz, as he suggested gravity is a primary driver of biological ageing, and referenced bats’ extended lifespans as evidence.

Goyal argued that because bats sleep in an inverted, upside-down posture, they escape the wear and tear of gravity and thus live longer lives.

"Bats are the longest-living mammals relative to their size, often living 10x longer than expected. They spend long durations, inverted, with head below the heart. Gravity assists blood flow to the brain rather than oppose it. Other lifespan outliers, like sloths & flamingos, also spend long periods in similar positions.
