Tropical Storm Jerry formed over the central Atlantic Ocean Tuesday and is expected to strengthen into a hurricane by Wednesday.

Jerry is the 10th named storm of a late-blooming season that has produced three hurricanes in just over two weeks.

Tropical Storm Jerry has sustained winds of 45 mph as of 11 a.m ET Tuesday. The storm was about 1,300 miles east-southeast of the northern Leeward Islands and was moving west.

The storm is likely to track near or north of the northern Leeward islands by later this week as a Category 1 hurricane, according to the National Hurricane Center.
