Just over a month ago, Vivo launched the V60. Now, the company has brought the V60e. On the surface, it might seem nothing more than a watered-down V60 built for a price. But when we look at the phone’s specifications, the V60e does not seem to be a cheaper version of any device. The V60e comes with a 200-megapixel main camera, with variable focal length for portrait shots. The handset comes with a massive 6,500mAh battery and an impressive AMOLED display.

Vivo has packed the V60e with several camera features, be it AI eraser, or β€˜India-specific’ filters. The phone targets those who want the best camera possible without breaking the bank. But does the V60e do the job? We will find out in this India Today Tech review.

Vivo V60e design and build – a premium touch

The Vivo V60e is a looker. The device has a matte finish on the back, which looks quite premium. The Elite Purple shade that we had for the review definitely looked impressive. Personally, I prefer it to the Noble Gold colour option that is also available.

The V60e has a similar design to the V60, albeit with only two cameras on the back. The camera module is almost identical to the V60 sans the Zeiss branding. You may also be reminded of the X200 FE. Beside the camera module lies the β€˜Aura Light’ ring, but more on that later.

In the hand, the V60e feels good to hold, albeit it is a bit slippery, and you may want to use the transparent case included in the box. The matte finish ensures that no fingerprints or smudges are noticeable, helping sustain the clean look.

On the front, you get a gorgeous 6.78-inch AMOLED display with quad curves. The curves make the design quite appealing from the front, along with uniform slim bezels on the top and bottom. The display is protected by Diamond Shield Glass. Vivo claims that it is 37 percent stronger in drop resistance compared to its previous generation. The device does come with a screen protector applied, and during my usage, the screen was free from scratches.
