In a landmark decision, the Karnataka Cabinet has approved one paid menstrual leave per month for women employees working in government offices, garment industries, multinational companies, IT firms, and other private sector organisations across the state.
The government said steps were taken to safeguard the health and well-being of working women while also promoting a more supportive and inclusive work environment.
State Law Minister HK Patil said, βIt will be helpful to women. The policy has been successful in other states, and we have decided to adopt it.β
