When it comes to the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon, the focus is always on the big names. This year, one of India’s finest runners, Gulveer Singh, will make his debut at the event alongside the likes of Abhishek Pal, the 2023 edition winner, and Lily Das, the defending champion.

Add to this the presence of international stars like Birhanu Legese Gurmesa, a two-time winner from Ethiopia, and Lillian Kasait Rengeruk, and it’s natural that the focus remains on world-class athletes who may end up finishing the half-marathon within an hour or so.

But among the 40,000 runners taking the stage on Sunday, October 12, many have their own inspirational tales to tell. Not all of them run the half-marathon to set record times or secure a place on the podium. For some, it’s all about having a fun time in the October sun and completing the course.

One such runner is Mr. Prashant Saxena. Now, if you try to Google the man, there isn’t much available on the web.
