The unprecedented developments at Tata Trusts, which resulted in a faction led by trustee Mehli Mistry blocking the reappointment of trustee and vice-chairman of Tata Trusts, Vijay Singh, to the Tata Sons board has brought back memories of former Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata and his legal battle with the late Cryus Mistry.
Cyrus, who was ousted as chairman of the Tata Group in October 2016 in a boardroom coup, had appealed against the decision in the courts. However, the Supreme Court in 2021 upheld Tataβs decision to remove him.
