Zoho co-founder Sridhar Vembu is praising yet another homegrown Indian app, and this time, it’s not one from his own company. Instead, it’s the newly launched navigation app Mappls by Indian mapping firm MapmyIndia. In one of his recent posts on X (formerly Twitter), Vembu called the app “very nice” and said it reflects “decades of R&D, much longer than Google Maps.” Vembu’s remarks came in response to a post by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who publicly encouraged citizens to try the “Swadeshi ‘Mappls’” app developed by MapmyIndia.
