DA seeks FAO help to reverse decades of underinvestment in agri
The Philippines is asking the assistance of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to help address 27 years of developmental gaps in the countryโs agriculture sector, fueled by the governmentโs funding shortfalls, the Department of Agriculture (DA) said.
In a statement, DA Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel said he met with FAO Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Asia and the Pacific Alue Dohong to affirm the countryโs long-standing partnership with the global body.
