The man-eating wolf, which had claimed the lives of an elderly couple and four children while injuring over two dozen others for over a month, was shot dead by forest officials early Thursday morning in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich.
According to officials, a forest department team led by former DFO Ajit Singh opened fire after repeated attempts to capture the animal alive failed.
