This festive season, a silver shortage has hit Mumbai’s Zaveri Bazaar and jewellery shops in New Delhi, with many jewellers even refusing to take new orders for silver jewellery or artefacts.
“We have stopped taking orders for silver since October 10,” says Puneet Datta, director at the Delhi-based Multani Jewellers in the tony lanes of Greater Kailash 1.
