Govardhan Pooja, celebrated a day after Diwali, honors Lord Krishna lifting the Govardhan Hill to protect the people of Vrindavan from heavy rains.
The festival is a reminder to respect nature, express gratitude, and celebrate community and devotion. Traditionally, people create a miniature Govardhan hill from cow dung or clay, decorate it with flowers and rangoli, and offer a variety of vegetarian dishes (Annakut) to Lord Krishna.
