According to a New York Times report, Amazon is quietly accelerating its automation efforts, with an ambitious plan that could eliminate the need to hire over 6,00,000 US workers by 2033. Internal strategy documents and interviews reviewed by the publication suggest that the retail giant wants its growing army of robots to take on most of the work in its fulfilment centres, even as it expects to sell roughly twice as many products over the same period.
