OpenAI has confirmed that its widely used chatbot, ChatGPT, will no longer be available on Meta’s messaging app, WhatsApp. Starting from January 15, 2026, users will no longer be able to access the chatbot through the currently available contact number. According to OpenAI, it is blocking ChatGPT’s access via WhatsApp following a policy change introduced by Meta Platforms.
In a recent announcement, OpenAI noted that more than 50 million people had used ChatGPT on WhatsApp to chat, create, and learn.
