The Sandiganbayan Special Third Division on Friday cleared former Senate President and incumbent Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile, his former chief-of-staff Jessica "Gigi" Reyes, Janet Napoles, among others on 15 counts of graft over the alleged misuse of the former lawmaker's P172-million pork barrel.
The anti-graft court said the prosecution failed to prove the guilt of the accused beyond reasonable doubt.
The decision, penned by Sandiganbayan Special Third Division chairperson Ronald Moreno, also did not impose any civil liability or any fine on Enrile, Reyes, and Enrile's former deputy chief of staff Jose Antonio Evangelista II who was also acquitted of all counts of graft charges.
