There is a new competition for WhatsApp in India. Or at least it seems so for now. This competitor is the Arattai app, created by Zoho. While the app first made its way into app stores in 2021, it was only recently that it saw a massive spike in popularity, thanks to endorsement by the Indian government, social media buzz, and its status as a Made in India app. In fact, with its 100x surge in user sign-ups and traffic on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, it appears it might challenge Meta’s messaging app WhatsApp.
