The year 2025 has been particularly eventful for Malayalam cinema at the box office. Several films including 'L2: Empuraan', 'Thudarum' and 'Lokah Chapter 1 – Chandra' among others, have struck gold at the box office. But the year hasn't been without hurdles. Many Malayalam films have faced censorship troubles with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
