Astronomers have confirmed the discovery of a new “quasi-moon” orbiting alongside Earth. It is a small asteroid named 2025 PN7 that follows our planet through space on a synchronised journey around the Sun.
First spotted in August 2025 by the Pan-STARRS observatory in Hawaii, the asteroid is roughly 20 meters wide and has likely been accompanying Earth for about 60 years
