The University Grants Commission (UGC) has once again sounded the alarm over an unrecognised institution falsely projecting itself as a legitimate engineering college. In a recent advisory, the Commission warned students against enrolling in the Institute of Management and Engineering, situated in Kotla Mubarakpur, Delhi, for running unapproved degree programmes in violation of Section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956. The regulator clarified that the institute is not established under any Central or State Act, nor recognised under Sections 2(f) or 3, rendering all degrees it offers invalid for academic or professional purposes.
