The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released an updated list of 22 fake universities operating across India, warning students against enroling in them. These institutions, according to the UGC, are not authorised to confer degrees under the UGC Act, 1956, making any qualifications from them invalid for academic or professional purposes.
In its latest notification, the Commission said these entities have been found to have misled students by presenting themselves as legitimate universities without legal standing.
