Dr Sumalatha Vasudeva, psychologist, Gleneagles BGS Hospital, Bengaluru, says that our culture has changed significantly, and the idea of self-worth is now tied to output; how productive you are and how much you produce.

"This creates what I call productivity anxiety, a sense of unease or guilt when you're not actively doing something, working, or improving yourself," she tells India Today.

The doctor adds, "Rest, instead of being seen as essential for well-being, is now viewed almost as a form of failure. People start to feel like they're not achieving anything when they rest.
