An intense crisis unfolded in Mumbai's Powai on Thursday when 38-year-old Rohit Arya held 19 people, including 17 children, hostage inside RA Studio, sparking a tense two-hour standoff. What began as a supposed audition for a web series soon turned into a nightmare of threats and desperation for the people trapped in the building. A 75-year-old grandmother was also among the hostages.

The crisis ended after the captor, Rohit Arya, was shot by police commandos as he reportedly opened fire. He was taken to hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds.
Fortunately, all hostages were safe and handed over to their guardians after medical check-ups.
The alarm was raised at around 1:45 pm. Police were alerted by an anonymous caller that a number of parents were worried as their children failed to return for lunch.
