The Allahabad High Courtβs Lucknow Bench has ordered the quashing of all criminal proceedings against India Today Group Chairman Aroon Purie and former Editor Prabhu Chawla, who had been facing charges related to an article on child labour and child prostitution published in the magazineβs Hindi and English editions on October 13, 2003.
Justice Brij Raj Singh delivered the verdict on the applications filed by Purie and Chawla under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, seeking to set aside an earlier summoning order and to end the criminal case.
