The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has intensified its violent activities in Canada, just days after India and Canada announced plans to strengthen cooperation against transnational crime. Despite being designated a terrorist organisation by Ottawa, the gang's operations in Canada are spreading. In the last week, the gang has claimed responsibility for shootings at two locations in Canada, one of which left an Indian-origin businessman dead. The gang also opened fire outside the Surrey home of Punjabi singer Chani Nattan, and even posted a video of the attack.

The gang claimed responsibility for the killing of Indian-origin businessman Darshan Singh Sahsi. Sahasi was shot dead outside his Abbotsford home in British Columbia on Monday morning.
