If you are following the announcement of the iPhone 17 and the iPhone Air, you might have come across an image on social media. This image, which is also featured up there in this piece, shows the internal components of the iPhone Air. When you look at it, you can derive several assertions and conclusions from it. You can marvel at the ingenuity of Apple engineers as they crammed almost the entire phone in an area that is meant for the camera bump. You can conclude that Apple can take this “phone” and simply plonk it in the stem of a wayfarer, and immediately create the world’s most powerful smart glasses. But among all these, one conclusion that I like to draw from this image is this — damn, Apple sure is cutting no cost in making its phone.
