Disney has taken a tough stance against the growing use of artificial intelligence in entertainment, warning Character.AI to stop using its famous characters without permission. The studio has accused the California-based startup of exploiting some of its biggest franchises, including Mickey Mouse, Frozen, Marvel, and Star Wars.
The warning came through a cease-and-desist letter sent on September 18, a copy of which was reviewed by NBC News.
