Around 20 people were killed and 20 others injured after a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus collided head-on with a speeding truck in Rangareddy district on Monday morning. The bus was carrying over 70 passengers.

The impact was so severe that many passengers died on the spot, while the mangled remains of both vehicles were strewn across the road. Among the deceased are 10 women, 8 men, and a 3-month-old child.

According to ADG Mahesh Bhagwat, the accident occurred when a bus from the Vikarabad depot heading towards Hyderabad was hit by a tipper truck coming from the opposite direction at high speed.

β€œIt seems the tipper was travelling at a very high speed and rammed into the bus,” Bhagwat said. β€œPeople with minor injuries are being treated at the Chevella Government Hospital, while those with serious injuries have been shifted to other hospitals nearby.
