A 20-year-old college girl, who was with her friend inside a car, was allegedly raped by three men in a deserted area near Coimbatore International Airport late on Sunday (November 2, 2025). The accused, who had come on a bike, had also assaulted her friend with a sickle on his head and other parts.
Seven special teams of the police have launched extensive searches for the three men who allegedly raped the first-year postgraduate student in turns for over three hours.
As per preliminary findings, the three men confronted the student and her male friend aged 25, who were sitting inside a car, around 11 p.m. on a plot of land near Brindhavan Nagar - SIHS Colony Road, behind Coimbatore Institute of Technology and the Government Polytechnic College.
