A nine-judge bench of the US Supreme Court will hear arguments on Wednesday on an appeal moved by the Trump administration challenging lower court verdict ruling that Trump overstepped his authority in imposing sweeping tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), a law intended for national emergencies. Punitive tariff on India over its purchases of Russian oil was imposed under the IEEPA.
