In a historic first, the Government Railway Police (GRP) has taken direct action against two Central Railway engineers for negligence in connection with the June 9 train accident near the Mumbra station in Thane, which killed four commuters.
The FIR, registered on Sunday, names Assistant Divisional Engineer Vishal Dolas and Senior Section Engineer Samar Yadav as the main accused. They have been accused of ignoring warnings, neglecting crucial repairs, and leaving the tracks vulnerable, leading to the tragic incident.
