Bihar’s Kosi region, shaped and scarred by the mighty River Kosi, has long been called the "curse of Bihar". Once known for its floods and devastation, it has also been a political curse for the RJD. Whether it turns into a boon for the Grand Alliance this time remains the big question.
Linguistically, Saharsa, Supaul, and Madhepura belong to the Mithila region, where Maithili is spoken, but politically, they form what is known as Kosi. The 2008 Kosi floods wreaked havoc across these districts, leaving behind a trail of destruction and despair.
