Benchmark stock market indices ended lower on Tuesday, as shares in the IT, auto, and metal sectors declined, dragging markets to close in red.

The S&P BSE Sensex lost 519.34 points to close at 83,459.15, while the NSE Nifty50 lost 165.70 points to end at 25,597.65.
