A dense, grey haze continued to smother Delhi on Tuesday, as the city’s air quality remained in the β€˜very poor’ category for the third consecutive day. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 309, while several pockets of the capital slipped into β€˜severe’ levels.

The AQI for many areas in Delhi went beyond 400, indicating air thick with toxic particles far beyond safe limits.
