In February last year, a quiet but consequential shift took place in Hooghly Rural police district. Under the leadership of superintendent of police Kamanasish Sen, the district launched an innovative initiativeโ€”the cyber helpdeskโ€”across all 16 police stations.

What began as an administrative experiment in decentralised cyber-policing has since become one of West Bengalโ€™s most successful district-level policing reforms, dramatically improving both financial and digital recoveries.
