In February last year, a quiet but consequential shift took place in Hooghly Rural police district. Under the leadership of superintendent of police Kamanasish Sen, the district launched an innovative initiative—the cyber helpdesk—across all 16 police stations.
What began as an administrative experiment in decentralised cyber-policing has since become one of West Bengal’s most successful district-level policing reforms, dramatically improving both financial and digital recoveries.
