Sure, some of that was rough — but the ogre deserved it, right? So did his family, didn’t they? Rep. Liz Cheney, his other daughter, of course remembers how she was treated, with jokes and derision, before she became a leading member of the Trump resistance. One comedian cracked on her ouster from Republican leadership, “She’s used to this. Her dad was a Dick, too.”
By the time his critics were done, Cheney had become so synonymous with the concept of evil that even Cheney himself gamely accepted it — once walking on stage to the “Imperial March” from Star Wars. Because why not?
