A French investment fund specialising in industrial projects using hydrogen urged the Swedish government on Thursday to support low-carbon steelmaker Stegra, which is rumoured to be struggling financially.

Stegra is building a new steel mill which will produce steel using technology the company says gives off 95 percent less carbon dioxide emissions than traditional methods.

Approximately 60 percent of the work has been completed.
