Former Afghanistan cricketer and current chief selector Asadullah Khan has lashed out at Australia for mixing politics with cricket. Australia donβt hold any bilateral cricketing relations with Afghanistan due to the suspension of womenβs rights in the country by the Taliban government, which has also banned girls from playing sports.
Cricket Australia (CA) has continuously cancelled playing against Afghanistan ever since Taliban took control of the nation in September 2021. CA first cancelled a one-off Test match scheduled to be played in Hobart in November 2021.
