We have undoubtedly witnessed, in the last few years, the best moments in Moroccan football history. This is indeed a golden era for the North African country: a World Cup semi-final in 2022, a U-20 World Cup title last month, and a number of other accolades on the global, African and Arab levels. Moroccan national teams – both male, female, football and futsal teams – have contributed to this era.
This era is especially appreciated by an older generation that is still haunted by the memories of the countless setbacks in Moroccan football. There was once a time when Morocco was without any wins or qualifications for the World Cup or AFCON – there was only, at best, early involvement in tournaments with swift knock outs.
