BBC Director General Tim Davie has stepped down, along with Deborah Turness, the networkβs chief executive of news, following backlash over a documentary that allegedly misled viewers by editing a speech by US President Donald Trump.
The BBC has been embroiled in a spate of allegations that it had failed to maintain neutrality in its reporting, including in its coverage of the US President, Israel-Hamas war and over trans issues.
