JAKARTA (The Straits Times/ANN): Indonesia will allow firms from the United States to sell energy products directly to state-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina without going through the usual competitive bidding process, in a move aimed at finalising a tariff deal between the two countries.

South-East Asia’s largest economy and the US are ironing out details on a deal reached in July 2025, under which Indonesia’s exports to the US would face a tariff rate of 19 per cent instead of 32 per cent.
