In a strong indictment of Maharashtraβs civic and road authorities, the Bombay High Court on Monday said officials must face penal as well as monetary consequences for accidents and deaths caused by potholes and poorly maintained roads.
A division bench of Justices Revati Mohite-Dere and Sandesh Patil said it found βno seriousnessβ on the part of municipal and state agencies in tackling the recurring menace of potholes.
