Intelligent writing is the most important aspect of a successful “stupid” film. This particular subset of the comedy genre is the hardest to pull off, as it takes something, and someone, truly intelligent to convince the theatre hall to switch off their brains and laugh at the stupidity being served. Telugu cinema in recent times has tried the formula repeatedly, with a handful of films like ‘Jathi Ratnalu’, ‘MAD’, ‘DJ Tillu’, and ‘Mathu Vadalara’ serving as examples. But what about the rest?
