With the talks in Alaska coming a cropper, Hungary has been selected as the next destination by US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to discuss a possible end to the Ukraine conflict. However, it is the choice of the location that has generated a buzz. In theory, Putin, who faces an international arrest warrant, should be held the moment he lands in Hungary.

But, such a spectacle is unlikely to happen. Before that, Kremlin needs to figure out how to get Putin to Budapest first by navigating a host of practical and legal hurdles as well as sanctions imposed by the European Union (EU).
