JERUSALEM/CAIRO β The Israeli military said it launched air strikes and artillery fire at targets in southern Gaza on Sunday, dimming hopes that a US-mediated ceasefire would lead to lasting peace as Israel traded blame with Palestinian militant group Hamas.
