US President Donald Trump has refuted reports suggesting that he urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to surrender the Donbas region to Russia during a tense meeting at the White House on Friday, describing the claims as false and insisting that no such discussion took place.
"We never discussed that," Trump told reporters on Sunday when asked whether he had pressed Ukraine to accept Russian President Vladimir Putin's terms for a cease-fire.

"We think that what they should do is just stop at the lines where they are, the battle lines. The rest is very tough to negotiate if you're going to say, 'You take this, we take that.'"
