Democrats on the House oversight committee on Monday released a sexually suggestive letter to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein purportedly signed by U.S. President Donald Trump after it was turned over to Congress by Epstein's estate.

Trump has said he did not write the birthday message or create the drawing of a curvaceous female figure that surrounds it. He filed a $10-billion US lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal, which broke the story in July.

The letter was included as part of a 50th birthday album compiled in 2003 for Epstein, a wealthy and well-connected financier who was once a friend of Trump's. The full House committee released a copy of the entire album Monday night.

The president has denied having anything to do with it.
