Prime Minister Narendra Modi spent his first Diwali with the Indian Navy on the night of October 20. It was his 12th such celebration with the armed forces but first with the Indian Navy. The Prime Minister's visit and message during his day at sea was directed at General Headquarters Rawalpindi, the seat of power in Pakistan.
"Just a few months ago, we witnessed how the name INS Vikrant sent waves of fear across Pakistan... such is its might, a name that shatters the enemy's courage even before the battle begins. That is the power of INS Vikrant," he said, addressing crew in the aircraft hangar of the 45,000-tonne warship, India's largest indigenously built vessel.
